I just love Amber's salon! It's very relaxing! Amber does awesome work! Amber is very knowledgeable about essential oils. Lavender is a universal oil, that can be applied neat( i.e. directly) on the skin. Lavender is the universal healing and burn relief healing oil! I've been doing aromatherapy since 1992!

Essential Oils Applied to Raw Skin (Severe Injury): I had a serious and unsafe experience at this establishment and am currently dealing with a painful facial injury. I went in for hair and ended up getting a chin wax as well. No intake form was provided, and I was not asked a single question about medications or skincare prior to the service. After waxing, instead of using a bland, protective barrier product (like Aquaphor), Amber applied UNDILUTED lavender and frankincense essential oils along with witch hazel directly onto the exposed, raw skin. I witnessed her dabbing these straight from the essential oil bottles. To add insult to injury, she took zero responsibility for using these irritating oils inappropriately on raw skin, which caused chemical burns. She later claimed the oils were “diluted” in a serum, but regardless of her claim, applying any essential oils or active serums to freshly lifted, raw skin is professional negligence. Compromised skin requires gentle, non-reactive barrier support, not botanicals. She sent me home with a bottle of pure, undiluted lavender oil and instructed me to continue applying it—along with tea tree oil—to the injured area. Applying undiluted essential oils (especially tea tree) to raw, compromised skin is dangerous and incorrect post-wax care. Fortunately, I did not follow her advice and immediately consulted AI about how to proceed. When the injury occurred, she tried to blame my use of Tretinoin. While Tretinoin increases skin sensitivity, it is the professional's responsibility to screen for such contraindications before the service. No screening occurred. She stated she has been waxing for 27 years, but decades of experience do not replace basic safety protocols or justify gaslighting a client after injuring them. I am now treating a significant facial burn and trying to prevent long-term scarring. If you value your skin and your safety, proceed with extreme caution. This was a complete failure of professional standards and basic safety.
